AJC Delivers Firm Messages to Mubarak

AJC President Harold Tanner urged Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to return Egypt's ambassador to Israel, to take concrete steps to eliminate anti-Semitic articles and cartoons in the Egyptian government-controlled media, and to end Egypt's diplomatic campaign against Israel in the UN and other international bodies. During the hour-long March 5 meeting at Blair House in Washington, the AJC leadership delegation also raised concerns about the urgent need to press Yasser Arafat to end the Palestinian campaign of terrorism against Israel. The meeting took place just before President Mubarak's meeting with President Bush at the White House.
