AJC Salutes Mayor Giuliani for Rejecting Saudi GiftAmerican Jewish Committee The American Jewish Committee has praised Mayor Rudolph Giuliani for rejecting a gift from a member of the Saudi royal family for the city's relief efforts. "Mayor Giuliani spoke for many Americans when he refused the tainted gift from Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal," said David A. Harris, executive director of the American Jewish Committee. "The Mayor's action bespeaks volumes about the exceptional courage and principle we New Yorkers have come to expect from our city's leader."  "The prince demonstrated contempt for the United States, and for the victims of the September 11 terror attacks, with his outrageous attempt to use $10 million to influence the course of U.S. foreign policy," said Mr. Harris. "As Mayor Giuliani rightly pointed out, 'there is no moral equivalence for this attack'."
