The full text of the letter from Mr. Tanner and Mr. Harris to President Bush follows: Dear Mr. President: On behalf of the national leadership and membership of the American Jewish Committee, we join with you in expressing profound grief on this most tragic day in American history. We mourn the loss of thousands of innocent Americans in the destruction of the World Trade Center's twin towers, the Pentagon, and elsewhere. Our hearts go out to the families of the countless victims. This act of war today is a rallying call for Americans to unite, to come together as never before to confront the scourge of international terrorism that challenges our nation and the democratic way of life. We are confident that your resolute leadership will unite our nation as we move forward from this disaster, assess the implications of today's barbarity, and consider the most effective responses. We know that you will take any and all measures necessary to find and punish the individuals, groups and, perhaps, countries that are responsible for these heinous terror attacks. Be assured that the American Jewish Committee stands with your Administration shoulder to shoulder. We are ready to assist you and the American people in every possible way. Respectfully,
