Guilty Verdicts Momentous Step in Battle Against TerrorismAmerican Jewish Committee The American Jewish Committee called the guilty verdicts in the U.S. Embassy bombings trial a "momentous step" in the ongoing battle against a campaign of terrorism against the United States. "We must remain vigilant against those who have perverted Islam to justify this type of terrorism against the United States," said Harold Tanner, president of the American Jewish Committee. "We urge prosecutors to pursue with vigor the trial of others associated with the twin 1998 bombings of the U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. The trial of the four found guilty yesterday should only be the start."
