American Jewish Committee Will Not Rest Until Iran Releases All Ten JewsAmerican Jewish Committee The American Jewish Committee, reacting to today's Iranian court decision regarding the 10 Iranian Jews, issued the following statement: "The nightmare for ten wrongly accused and convicted Jews in Iran is far from over. We cannot and will not rest until each and every one of them is free and reunited with his family. "No one is fooled by today's reduction in sentences for the ten Jews unjustly convicted of spying, which is little more than an attempt by the Iranian court to demonstrate fairness and the norms of justice that never have existed since the beginning of this sordid affair.  "The world knows that the initial arrest of 13 Jews – community and religious leaders, and a teenager – more than a year ago was a sham, as was the trial of the 13, and the unjust convictions of 10 defendants. "All of the ten Jews have languished in prison far too long for crimes they never committed. The Iranian authorities should correct this gross injustice and release them immediately."
