American Jewish Committee Reelects Top Officers

Bruce M. Ramer, a prominent Los Angeles attorney, was today reelected National President of the American Jewish Committee.

The election of officers took place at an AJC Board of Governors/National Council Meeting. The session was part of the agency's 93rd Annual Meeting, which concludes Friday at the Capital Hilton Hotel.

Jack Lapin of Houston, Texas, was reelected Chair of AJC's Board of Governors. E. Robert Goodkind of New York City, was reelected Chair of the National Council.

The following AJC Adminsitrative Officers were reelected: Morris W. Offit of Westchester, New York, Chair, Board of Trustees; Michael Gould of New York City, and Lawrence J. Ramer of Los Angeles, California, Associate Chairs, Board of Trustees. Jane Silverman of Princeton, New Jersey, was reelected Secretary. Ronald Weiner of New York City was reelected Treasurer. David Rousso of Los Angeles was reelected Associate Treasurer.

Newly elected Vice Presidents were Stephen Kurzman of Washington, DC; and Carol Nelkin of New Jersey. Newly elected Honorary Vice Presidents were Stanley Golder of Illinois; and Stephen Selig III of Atlanta.

The following individuals have been elected to serve on AJC's Board of Governors for the first time: Janine Behrman of Westchester; Candy Berman of Atlanta; Victor Goldberg of Westchester; Mark Levenson of Portland; Margaret Pennington of Sarasota; Joseph Rackman of Westchester; and Donald Simon of Los Angeles.

Elected as Honorary Board Members for the first time were Norman Gelman of Washington, DC; and Elaine Wishner of Chicago.
