Terrorism Knows No Borders And Needs No PassportAmerican Jewish Committee The American Jewish Committee strongly denounces today's terrorist attack outside the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which has left nine tourists dead and more than a dozen other people injured. To the victims of this criminal act and to their families we extend our deepest sympathy. Sadly, we know all too well the devastation these brutal attacks thrust onto innocent lives. This latest onslaught, allegedly carried out by Islamic extremists, is yet another illustration of the vulnerability of all moderate states in the region and around the world. Terrorism knows no borders and needs no passport. If civilized nations do not work cooperatively and decisively to combat such threats on all fronts and at all times, then surely we are all at risk to potentially face such carnage and barbarism. Terrorists must be stopped. Their support cells and infrastructure must be destroyed. There is no other message we can convey and no other alternative which is acceptable. The American Jewish Committee rededicates itself to continue to pursue all efforts to help eliminate the terrorist scourge and oppose the ideologies of hate and violence that threaten peace, security, stability and prosperity in the Middle East and throughout the world.
